Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is a country located in the Caucasus region of Eurasia, bordered by Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west, and Iran to the south. The Caspian Sea lies to the east of Azerbaijan. The official language is Azerbaijani and the currency is the Azerbaijani Manat. Azerbaijan has a population of approximately 10 million people and the capital and largest city is Baku.

Azerbaijan has a rich history and culture, with influences from its various conquerors throughout history including Persians, Arabs, and Russians. The country is known for its traditional music and dance, as well as its carpets and other textiles.

Azerbaijan is a semi-presidential republic with a strong executive presidency. The country has a rapidly growing economy, driven largely by its oil and gas reserves. Azerbaijan is also a member of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
