Cuba is a country located in the Caribbean, consisting of the island of Cuba as well as Isla de la Juventud and several archipelagos. Its capital and largest city is Havana. Cuba has a population of around 11.3 million people and its official language is Spanish. The country has a communist government, led by the Communist Party of Cuba and its First Secretary, currently Miguel Díaz-Canel.
Cuba has a diverse economy, with the state controlling most industries and resources. The main sectors are tourism, sugar, tobacco, construction, and healthcare. The country has a highly educated population and a strong tradition of universal healthcare and education, however, the economy has been struggling since the fall of the Soviet Union, which had been a key trading partner and source of aid for Cuba.
The country has been under a US trade embargo for several decades, which has had a significant impact on the country's economy and has limited the ability of American companies to do business in Cuba. Despite this, Cuba has managed to maintain a relatively high standard of living compared to other countries in the region.
Cuba is also known for its rich culture, including music, dance and art, as well as its history, including the revolution led by Fidel Castro in the 1950s and its significance in the Cold War.
