Moldova

Moldova is a country located in Eastern Europe, bordered by Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east and south. The capital and largest city is Chisinau. The population of Moldova is around 2.7 million people.

Moldova is a parliamentary republic with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. The country has a diverse population, with the Moldovans being the largest ethnic group, followed by the Ukrainians, Russians, and Gagauz. Moldovan and Russian are the official languages. The majority of the population is Orthodox Christian, but there are also significant Christian and traditional religious minorities.

The economy of Moldova is heavily dependent on agriculture, particularly wine and tobacco production, as well as on remittances from Moldovans working abroad. The government has been implementing economic reforms and trying to attract foreign investment to diversify the economy and create jobs. Despite that, the country remains one of the poorest in Europe, with high levels of poverty and unemployment.
